God is wanting to transform organisations, cities, regions and nations. Local church can only touch some of these areas. God's strategy is to envision those of His people who are already operating in these places to work with Him in bringing about this transformation. These people are Workplace and Marketplace Ministers. God is wanting to use these people to bring restoration and redemption to every functioning part of our cities and nations.

From amongst these people God is raising up Apostles to build His Church, as well as those with the five-fold ministries. Apostle means a special messenger, a delegate, one commissioned for a particular task or role, one sent forth with a message.. Peter Wagner says, "I believe there are Apostles of Finance, Technology, Medicine, Industry, Education, the Military, Government, Law, Communications, Business, Transportation, Nuclear Science, Agriculture and a hundred other segments of society. When these Marketplace Apostles begin to move into their rightful place under the powerful anointing of God - watch out! Revival will be right around the corner!"

So the role of the Workplace and Marketplace Minister is to work with Christ to see a citywide expression of His Body. So His Body will have many expressions in different places, not just in local church buildings. In the future God's Workplace and Marketplace Ministers will stand shoulder to shoulder with Pulpit Ministers to achieve God's plans for His cities, regions and nations.
